I’m resuming this project once again. 006 is definitely one of my lesser works. I started this piece about 6 months ago before I took a trip to Asia. I had a hard time coming back to it after my return, and I’ve decided to move on leaving it unfinished. There was supposed to be more shading and details put into this piece, but I think I’m better off channeling that energy into girl 007. I’m hoping my rendering skills have improved since half a year ago. We’ll find out soon enough.

Evolution of a Comic Page
Saturday, April 3rd, 2010I recently finished an 8 page comic for this year’s Bay Area Artists Unite Comic Anthology – BAAU Down 9.
I started off with a very rough layout of each page to get the panels and rough compositions down like so.

Next I put down a sketch layer of more fleshed out figures and backgrounds.

Then I went over the sketches with a clean line putting in some more detail and fixing any parts that looked off or weird. Flat tones of grays and Black were put in afterwards.

And for the final step.. (more…)
The Expendables trailer actually gets me excited.
Friday, April 2nd, 2010These days it takes a lot for a trailer to get me pumped about a movie, especially one that’s not a remake, sequel, or based on a preexisting IP. With that said “The Expendables” trailer pretty much throws every 80’s to 90’s action star in my face except the kitchen sink, which in this case would be Jean Claude Van Damme, who reportedly turned down a role that eventually went to Dolph Lundgren. As a shameless Van damme fan I was heart broken OTL. Still how cool is it to see Rambo, John McClane, the Transporter, Commando, The white guy from “The Best of the Best”, Ivan Drago, Mr. 9 1/2 Weeks, and Wong Fei Hong, all wrapped up in the same movie?
Apparently Mr. Passenger 57 himself, Wesley Snipes was also offered a role, but couldn’t make it due to his tax evasion ordeal, but I actually like Seeing Terry Crews in the part. How can you not love the guy after seeing his outstanding performance in “White Chicks?”
A “choke” that makes me laugh.
Tuesday, March 16th, 2010I wonder how many people get this choke joke.
Still not interested in the game itself, but at least now I know there’s PSP version coming out.
100 GIRLS Project #005

Special thanks go out to Nicky who suggested that I try drawing Harley Quinn. Taking requests has been a lot of fun. This was one of my favorite coloring attempts so far of the project. Rather than my usual black outlines, I tried using different color lines so they would better blend in with the shading. I always notice flaws here and there after I finish, but I’m pretty satisfied with the end result for this one. Still a long journey ahead though.
Next up: A cross between Dorothy from The Wizard of Oz, and Alice in wonderland. Whatever that means. Requested by Xhaos.
100 GIRLS Project #003
Friday, October 23rd, 2009
This one is loosely based off of the character “Wichita” from “Zombieland.” Couldn’t find a good tutorial on hair so I decided to wing it. I think I got some decent results from just using a fine line brush. I definitely think it’s an improvement from 002, and perhaps the best of the 3 so far.
Next up: Marge Simpson! Drawn in my style..
