It’s been a relatively interesting week here at LiFe.1, and progress has been slow and steady. (more…)

More on the RPBs

Friday, March 30th, 2007

While initially I planned to talk about this in the Friday Status Report (Coming later today), it turned out to become a topic of its own.:)

First off, both Max and I would like to thank everyone for all their comments in the “How are the Role Playing Boards Doing?” post. We’re deeply humbled and moved by the supportive comments and the growing relations between the different RPBs. We hope to do all we can in helping the RPBs grow even more, and try to bring some more exposure to them. (more…)

Music Update: “Tension”

Thursday, March 29th, 2007

Finally got around to putting up another song from the XIN OST in the Music section.
The song is titled “Tension” and is featured in Sessions 09, and 12.
I’ll try to update some more music during the next few weeks.
I’m going by requests, so please feel free to leave them here, if you’d like.

Discussion here.

As Nanse’s Shadows come to an end, I had a chance to have a small conversation with him about his projects and influences.

Max: You are a fan of Kenshin and Saint Seiya.
Nanse: Hell Yeah. Those are two of the best manga I’ve ever red. I love the way Masami Kurumada writes and the touch of history in Nobihiro Watsuki’s work.

Max: What’s your opinion of Kurumada’s old school approach to subjects like friendship, courage, and love?
Nanse: I grew up with that piece. This is exactly what series nowadays lack. Naruto and Bleach rely on the same theme matter but they are not as strong.
Max: Though Saint Seiya does show its age. Would you consider it more on the line of strongly emotional or corny?
Nanse: Sometimes it does get very corny, but overall it’s very powerful.
Max: Reading the early chapters of Shadows it definitely gives me a similar feeling. There’s my reason for assuming you are a big fan :P .
Nanse: :D

How are the Role Playing Boards doing?

Sunday, March 25th, 2007

A little thought hit me a couple of days ago. I was trying to remember why we catagorized the XIN RP boards into “official” and “unofficial” RPBs in the first place.

It’s a loooooong story, and I won’t bore anyone with it, but to put it in a nutshell, it was mainly to respect and honor the wishes of the original founders and admins of the early XIN RPBs.

The fact is that now many of the original admins have moved on to do other things. XIN RPB 1 is now closed, and with it the reasoning behind this whole “official” and “unofficial” business has become rather obselete. With that said, I’ve recently simplied the links page to the XIN RPBs.

  • Public High School #552
  • Public High School # 259
  • Hircine High
  • No more official / unofficial nonsense. These are the 3 XIN RPBs that remain to this day, and I hope they will continue to develop and grow for many years to come.

Max and I have been quiet spectators of the RPBs to say the least. When we read all the RP posts and storylines among the RPBs we’re constantly tempted to put everything aside and jump in to start RPing with everyone, but our projects for the site always keep us from doing so without hesitation.

So while it may be some time before we can directly join in on the fun, we’d still like to support the RPBs and continue to raise awareness for them.

This post is basically an open discussion, and we invite all the admins, participants, and spectators of the RPBs to come and share any thoughts, opinions, suggestions, or request (if any) about the boards. If you’re not familiar with the baords and are just curious about them, please feel free to leave any questions as well.:)

    Friday Status Report

    Friday, March 23rd, 2007

Progress has been slow this week. We have a number of projects in the works, some we’ve talked about before, and others that aren’t ready to be revealed yet, but we’re aiming to eventually wrap them all up (or put them on hold) so we can just focus on Surface for a while.

    Current Projects (more…)
